Woundedness  care

We all come to therapy with baggage, and wounds that no one sees.  Sometimes these wounds come from abuse issues, anger issues, developmental stressors and personal limitations.  Recovery with Dr. Tony sensitively deals with the wounds of the Mind, Soul and Body.  If your issue cannot be dealt with working with Dr. Tony, appropriate referrals will be made.

Group and Couples Counseling

To remain within his scope of practice as an AOD counselor with sup-specializations, you are invited to view the credential section of this web page. However, Dr. Tony works with couples and groups on several levels as long as it falls with in his specialties.  He has years of experience and teaches group therapy for the University of California Berkeley-Extension, and has done numerous groups in the community mental health realm, in-patient hospital setting, State Prison Setting, and private practice setting, utilizing Yalom theory for group work.

Groups begin with 6 people minimum and maximum of 10 people.

Couples groups are for those who are married, dating, or in a relationship.

Standard Group is for the general population. There is a strict rule that if you are in this group you may not date, or have a relationship with another group member.  This tends to divert attention from your individual needs and can lead to major disruptions in the group process and healing.

Forensic Counseling & Gang Work

In his early academics, Dr. Tony earned an Associates Degree in Correctional Administration and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mental Health Psychology and Criminal Justice Adminiatration.  He began his work in forensics at the Youth Development Center in Pennsylvania and later while in the Seminary, did work at the Greenbay Correctional Reformatory in Wisconsin. He then worked with the District Attorney in the Family Court Section in Philadelphia.  Most recently, he worked for five years at San Quentin State Prison in California. While at San Quentin he worked with and designed a program for the inmates on Death Row.  He also worked closely with the Administrative Segregation Populationa and the Adjustment Center population.  He has done extensive work studying gangs and gang behavior and has several presentations which he offers those interested in learning about gangs and gang prevention.  Individual and Group work are offered for both those involved with the Criminal Justice System and their families.
